Examinations - one each month, mostly short answer format - questions distributed in advance - in Global 9 every other exam is mutliple-choice format consisting of question from old Regents exams and covering all material since the start of the year.
Essays - one each month - topic distributed a week in advance and posted online - may be thematic or Document-based in format
Listening Tasks - one each month - speeches, letters, newspaper articles, or other documents from the time period to listen to twice before responding to questions
Debates, Speeches, Oral Presentations, etc. - variety of other tasks

Quizzes
"Information Processing" grade for notebooks in grades 7 and 8
Most quizzes are short response in format. These questions are answered in paragraph form in standard English. Study can usually be done in class and short response quizzes consisting of multiple questions may be taken on an installment basis (one question at a time). A few important policy notes:
Students who are absent for 2 or more days of instruction on material required for the exam may postpone the exam.
Students who are absent for the review class must still take exams.
Students who lose their review guides or who did not receive one because of absence will be required to take the exams on time with everyone else.
Students who do not have internet to practice test questions still have to take the exams with everyone else.
Students who are legally absent for an exam and who cannot make up that exam in time for it to be counted on the marking period will have that exam counted on the following marking period.
