Today we started the elevator project with stephnat. Our group is making the elevator; stephnat is making the vehicle to go up the elevator. The programs use touch sensors. When the vehicle touches the touch sensor motors go up for a certain amount of time (not yet determined). When the touch sensor is not touched the elevator does not move.

to tell you the truth; I'm not really all that sure of what we accomplished today. I think that we are just plain confused. For whatever reason ; my brand new design is «da shiznit» at sumo. I didn't even program it do do more than go forward!

Today we learned how to send mail. WE were the first people to make the program but the others took pictures of it!!!!!! :-( Oh well; But anyway we looked up on how to write the programs for the mail. We also re-did our robot. We added a reflector; new wheels; and of course a new evil program. WA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!. Tomorrow we will probably sumo someone. We dont know what we shal do after the sumo but we have not done all the challenges so we will have many choices. See you tomorrow!!!! Cam; Alex; and Kev ^ (Our virus maker)

This is the most complicated solution that I have seen to the maze. This is only worth 30 points too! It uses containers to keep turning left; then right while backing out each time. It also uses random time to decide how long to turn. This is our solution to the maze!!

Ally- Today we started the Obstacles Challange but we had technical difficulties and replaced our batteries. I am not so sure that was a problem but we still had to download firmware again and all the computers that we tried on did a horrible job downloading. Tommorow I hope will be more productive.at- today we started a new challenge.we have a good program;but the batteries went and we had problems with the firmware(problems meaning the firmware doesn't like to load); and the robot needs altering.

Today our group started to make our car for the challenge «line touch freeform». We thought that our car could do a jump if we had a third engine but we were unable to do it because the morning class took the two spare engines. Then our car would not turn but we soon found out that it was because front wheels don't make the car able to turn. We replaced the front wheels with the round black peice; but the weight was still too great. Tomorow we will try the zoobot and see if it will work better.

Forrest is doing this journel. Today I studied for the gears test and of course I aced it; while Eric programmed the robot. We went through another two of the obsticale course levels and got full credit on them. the robot I designed; and Eric helped too; was meant to make a noise if it hit the can; sometimes the plow fell off or the sensor was to high. Evevtually; my group built the robot and it succesfully made a noise when it touched a can AND pushed out all the cans. tommorow; I hope to do at least one more level of the obsticale course.

Wednesday 20 July; 2005 at 2:42

today the only thing that was completed was a test i recieved a 88. That was on the first try! We continuosly tried to do level 2 on the Obstacles. We are usure of what is wrong. It spins and destroys anything in its path. It would be good for summo. We may do that next. I finally got iron man onto the bot;i had to use the load a saved scroll thingey and when i was running the program it asked me to select the song i made in the piano program thing

today our group remade our car and used a rotation sensor to make sure it turned the 90 degrees we needed it to. then collin's program didn't function the right way. we figured out that the lightsensor didn't see black as soon as it started so it would go straight forever; we soon added a jump and land after the light sensor fork and a fork merge.we are about to test our line touch freeform car.

Ally- today i believe we made significant progress our robot does not fall apart «quite» as easily and we are almost on our way to complete the first level of the obstacle challenge. I hope we complete our second challenge tommorow if we are lucky.at-We have nearly completed the obstacle challenge. We just need it to go a lot slower with less time.We changed our robot so it didn't break into fifty pieces. It also had two light sensors before;and that messed it up because it sensed the middle lines.

Today we struggled on the new challenge......TUG OF WAR. Although it was hard; we finally got the program to get into our robot and work. We battled 1 team today. We tied because it was a stalemate. We really didnt accomplish much but we learned a good lesson in programming! (Mr. Jones showed most of it to us)Cam also made progress on the walker but we need another motor; he is making a modified version of a robot from the book.

Thursday 21 July; 2005 at 2:38

today we finally finished level 2 on the obstacles. We had to take our program apart peice by peice. We had to debug it. We are now doing summo. We are using the a similar program. It spins around rapidly so that everthing in its path is destroyed or pushed aside. It is like a hurricane or tornadoe! The robot for obstacles was to big so Bob reduced the size; but it is still going to win. The robot is well put together so it will be hard to take apart.

Today steve tried to make the program for carapultbut the light couldnt see the dark and it wouldent stop and fling the little lego mon. We gave up the catapult and started sumo. We are going to keep the peices so when we go back to it we wont have to go looking around for all the peices.

Ally- Today was extremely promising we finished the first; second and third of the obstacle challenge levels. At first it was difficult finding our faults and it didn't help with Mr. Jones telling us how weak our design was. We found with adding a bumper and adjusting power levels we were successful. Also every time we attempted a new level all we had to do was to adjust our program by a small margin to solve the next level.at- Today we did levels one through three in the obstacle course. Our main problem was timing. We had it trying to kill us.We also had a blind spot in the middle of the circle so we added a side bumper.

Today Gabe was not hear again for the second Thursday in a row. I created a program that made it through the maze finally. I made it work by using containers.
